RECEPTION IN CHORLEY AREA
Chorley is
located approx 5 miles from the Winter Hill site which means that
due to its close proximity to the transmitter Multiple feeds can be
taken from the one Aerial without the need for stacking one aerial
after another on the same mast.
Due to the amount of signal here you can
encounter problems with signal overload, as once you have more than
75db of signal fed into a Freeview box or Digital television this
overload can cause the picture to break-up especially if Amplifiers
have been added into the system. We have installed many Multipoint
installations using either Triax Supergain 14/ 18 in the Chorley

Problem areas include Brinscall
that is partly blocked by a hill so not all can pick up from Winter
Hill and are served by Brinscall Relay this is Analogue only but
will provide a Freeview Lite service after Switchover but now Freesat is here they have an
option.

Digital Switchover

The Digital
Switchover for the Granada Region is set to take place starting 4 th
November 2009 when all analogue channels will disappear from your
viewing.
SO
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO NOW
- If your TV Aerial is old and
looks in need of repair this is the ideal opportunity to upgrade
to a quality Digital Aerial.
- If you are installing a new
Television with built in Free view then maybe its time to upgrade
your Aerial to enhance your viewing experience and to ensure you
don't suffer from picture break-up.
- All your Televisions in the house
will require a good level of signal so get rid of those indoor set
top Aerials and get an Aerial system installed for all T.V. s.
