WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT. The country is heading into a new a revolution in Television Broadcast standards. Currently we are using an analogue transmission system which has been in place approximately 70 yrs and has changed very little since the early days of television. With the arrival of Digital Television much more will be available to the consumer including Interactive services, H.D.T.V. (not from transmitters until the switchover is complete), and much more channels than currently be broadcast in analogue format (approx 8 digital can be compressed into 1 analogue broadcast channels bandwidth). |

HOW WILL IT AFFECT US. (WHAT YOU
WILL NEED)
OLDER TELEVISIONS The older T.V.s contain analogue tuners only and these will not work when the switchover happens in order to carry on using these a Digital Freeview box will be needed and this will do the job and act as a replacement for your t.v. s tuner. Digital T.V.s Newer T.V.s may contain a Digital Tuner if the Television has the D.V.B. logo on the front or the rear of the set then this indicates that the set has an integrated Digital Tuner not all T.V.s that say the are Digital Ready actually contain these tuners so make sure you ask the sales people first. |
